WATESOL Grants
WATESOL offers three grants each year.  Any WATESOL member may apply for these grants.  Grant recipients must contribute a short article to the WATESOL Newsletter giving an account of the professional development experience facilitated by the grant.  See below for more information about each grant.

WATESOL Travel Grant
The WATESOL Travel Grant is intended to help cover the costs of traveling to any conference relevant to the teaching of English as a Second Language.  Grant amount: $500.

J. Michael O'Malley Action Research Grant
The J. Michael O'Malley Action Research Grant supports classroom-based research in the interest of improving teaching and encouraging reflective teaching practices.
Grant amount: $500
Deadline: April 1

Jim Weaver Scholarship for Professional Development
The Jim Weaver Scholarshihp was created to help defray educational or professional development costs.  “Educational or developmental costs” could include professional conference registration fees,  fees for short courses, seminars or workshops leading to professional development, subscriptions to journals in the field,  funding for classroom research or peer evaluation activities, or funding of professional development groups at a particular institution.  Grant amount: $500.
Deadline: June 1
