The Keynote Address

Looking Inward and Moving Forward in an Evolving TESOL World

As the TESOL field rapidly changes, it is important to delve deeply into who we are as English language teaching professionals, why we remain in this field, and what our varied roles have been in supporting multilingual learners’ English acquisition journeys. Here, we will jointly self-reflect on our own lived TESOL experiences to uncover a more explicit, tangible understanding of the multidimensionality of being a professional in our field and use that towards reconfiguring who we could be moving forward, thus being more proactive in, as opposed to reacting to, TESOL’s evolving landscape.
